Sustainable Chemistry Meets Electrosynthesis Processes: ETOS-Halocycles Summer School 2025
From June 10 to 12, 2025, the ETOS-Halocycles Summer School took place in Boppard under the motto "Electroorganic Synthesis & Circular Chemistry". The event provided an excellent platform for knowledge exchange and networking among the 43 participating PhD students, postdocs, and professors.
The event kicked off with a moderated networking workshop, which, through interactive exercises, enabled rapid exchange and direct networking among participants.
Lectures by Principal Investigators (PIs) from the ETOS and Halocycles initiatives, along with a lively poster session, shaped the second day of the event. Key research topics were discussed and the scientific dialogue among participants was deepened.
The third day focused on practical and future-oriented topics at the intersection of research and application.
Three female scientists contributed with engaging presentations:
- Electrochemical Solutions for the Chemical Industry (Dr. Ricarda Kollmuß, WACKER)
- How to Transform Electrochemical Publications into Applications (Dr. Rong Zhao, Boehringer Ingelheim)
- Chemotion – General and Electrochemistry Topics (Dr. Nicole Jung, KIT)
A special highlight of the Summer School was our hike along the Middle Rhine Trail in Boppard. It provided not only a sporting challenge, but also space for informal exchange and team building in a stunning natural setting.
We thank all participants for this wonderful experience!
